stacy — the maker behind scrambled ceramics

Stacy Carthy makes pots in a small studio in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Most days start with coffee and a question — what if the rim curved a little more? What if that glaze dripped?

The name Scrambled is half-joke, half-truth. The work is rarely neat. Every piece is one good idea and a few happy accidents. She throws on the wheel, glazes by hand, fires in her small electric kiln in the back of the studio. The clay is stoneware from a supplier in Saskatchewan. The glazes are her own recipes — developed over years, mostly tested, occasionally surprising.

Most recently she and Kev moved to the cabin for the summer. The studio came too — the move was the kind of happy accident a lot of her pots are. New light. New tables. Same clay, same wheel, same hands.

This site is for showing the work and for taking commissions. If something here catches your eye, get in touch. She replies personally within a week.
